Personal Statement

Hello! This is Sam! Yes, it’s really me, not the third person me.

I’m a writer who has been writing since before I technically knew how to use written language (funny story, that, but another time). My passion for reading and writing fueled a B.A. in English, and an M.A. in Literature. My degrees fueled a career teaching English in community colleges throughout the valley. I’ve had poems, short stories, and short memoirs published in San Joaquin Valley literary magazines and I’ve been involved in several English and literature conferences across the country. Currently I live in California with my husband Kevin and my cat Stormy.
